Fly Girl (Ensemble) ★★★★½
Based on the true story of Deborah Lawrie’s battle to become Australia’s first female commercial airline pilot, it has all the hallmarks of a feel-good hit of the summer – even if we’re still in spring.

Four Minutes Twelve Seconds (Flight Path) ★★★½
The characters in James Fritz’s sexting drama have all the foibles of real people in an unexpected and seemingly impossible situation, which makes for some juicy, compelling drama.

La Ronde (The Grand Electric) ★★★½
My neck is sore and my throat is dry — all because I spent 90 minutes, mouth ajar, staring up at the roof of the Grand Electric watching beautiful people spin around in the air.

Calamity Jane (Sydney Opera House) ★★★★
With this production pulling the queer-coded subtext out into the spotlight, it’s clear that this “secret love’s no secret anymore.”
